8 AM - Ken putting electronics back in operation....
10 AM- left fuel dock and heading back out from Baltimore to Annapolis...26 naut.miles...from Fort Henry...
12:30 Fed the Capt. a turkey sandwich for lunch.... we are running out of supplies2:05 at Bascule Bridge in Annapolis...have to wait 1/2 hr for bridge to open so we can go thru...opens on the hr and 1/2 hr...
2:35 PM- pulled up mooring ball...attached to the ball are ropes and we hook them to the bow of the boat to hold us in place like an anchor....$25/day for the ball.
3:00 Jeff/ harbor master comes by and collects for the mooring. we have it for 3 days.....
Ken puts the outboard back on the dinghy so we can get around to shore and all...
we first go up Market Slip....also known as "Ego Alley" boats go to the end of this little area and turn around and go back out -mostly to show off their boats....we took our little dinghy in and tied it up so we could walk around town....
Some mighty big boats in this harbor...one belongs to the owner of the Ravens...it is called "Winning Drive" and I'd say is the largest one here...we watched one 95 ft. yacht go to the fuel dock...took up most of the room and several people were cleaning it and washing it,etc. etc...when we left to go back to our boat, it was still there getting worked on....gorgeous boat...I have a pic....
We ate supper at McGarvey's a little you guessed it "Irish Pub" Ken ordered the special of the day....Crab Nachos $5....best thing we ate - really delicious...I had a hamburger and ken got a caesar salad...the place was sort of interesting...over 35 yrs with the current owner...way back when, he had some aviator friends in the Navy and they gave him their old or cracked aviator helmets and he has them lining the top of the bar...our waiter says there are hundreds more upstairs from others that just know the story about this guy and aviators...just gave them to him...
I think Irish Pubs are fun! good bar food....
Went across the street to Market St.Place and got some brochures and maps of Annapolis...quaint place...really old and lots of history...
After trip to hardware store, we dinghy'd back to the boat...now mind you, we have no electricity... we have to get in the dinghy and go back to Ego Alley where the harbor master headquarters are..to use their facilities..if we want to shower there and use the bathroom....a tad bit inconvenient.....not easy like walking down a dock to get to the bathrooms,etc.....anchoring out is cheaper, but you do give up some luxuries..
10 PM- to bed with issue...85 degrees and no fan...dangit...it did cool down after quite a while....miss my electricity....85 in the cabin 78 outside....took a while to get the air cool down below....
Glad we are here and safe....more tomorrow!
