7:15 AM up and it started to rain again...not hard...overcast and yucky!
I went and got a shower while Ken slept in a bit.....back and cking weather on computer,etc....decided to stay here another day.
So after breakfast, I started reading my book and finished it..called Hush Money...kept my interest...then between raindrops, I decided to walk around and take a few pictures of the marina and the bathrooms,office...etc...the people that run the marina are all great, but Terry has gone above board as far as I am concerned, and has done that little extra for me..took me to the store, etc. and came later to pick me up when I was finished....then later today,I was just sitting on the back of the boat and she came around the dock checking boats, their lines, etc. there could be a little extra water at high tide and she mentioned to me if the dock gets under water to just pull the power plug....dang, sure hope that doesn't happen...
I called a local Chinese Rest. and had them deliver some food....hadn't had Chinese in about 6-7 weeks....was good...enough for 2 more meals...yeah!
I was checking on the charts to find another stop for us and came up sort of empty handed finding a marina just as we turn up into the Potomac that has diesel fuel..on the Maryland side, so I went to the Virginia side of the Potomac and found a marina for us to stay at for the night and to get fuel....we may change our mind if we get inside the river and we arn't too tired, we will continue up further along the river and I will have to find another port.
I have been checking out the canal system in NYS and I guess it is a mess with all the water...most of it -if not all of it is shut down right now...high water, some are overflowing their banks and some have damage and lots of floaties...We were stranded last Fall for 2 wks for high water, but nothing like what is going on right now.....other places we stopped on our trip down are now experiencing too much water and are flooding...makes me wonder if we should leave here....I sure hope that there are not too many people stranded......
Well it's time to move on....
But I will say, that I would stop her at Zahniser's Harbor again.....it's been a good stay....staff are wonderful....
