8:30 we left the boat and walked into town -well one end of the little island, where they have some restaurants....most were not open yet....but we found one....ate a little something for breakfast, then went across the street and walked the boardwalk and took a few pictures...then back to the boat...
Ck'd in at the desk to get quarters to do laundry, while Ken defrosted the freezer and cleaned out the frig....he also cleaned the bilge...thank you very much, honey....
I found a book to read and so I started reading it while I did the laundry...quite a nice facility...I have had my moments with washers and dryers...these were $1 each to use...so got it all done for just $4...very good...nice area, even have an iron and ironing board...I thought about using it for some shirts, naa...just a thought...Ken says he's surprised I even know what they are....he was on a winning streak with good deeds...now good is starting to fade.....stinkin men!
After laundry, we went to the desk and Shawn (one of the marina lads) took Ken and I to the grocery store....he came back an hour later and got us....now we have some more junk food to eat...plus a lot of fruit and salad making things...we did good!
So when we walk along the docks, there are these big posts that the dock is attached to that sometimes have these crabs hanging on them....so tempted to catch a few and steam them as to buy 1 doz steamed crabs is $55 ...No thank you...so what do you think ...we will be here at least one more day....maybe we should do some crabbing... don't have a net or trap...maybe just reach down and get one...yeah,maybe tomorrow...I will steam them if Ken catches them...may be some law or something about a license or something....
lots of jellyfish all over here....neat to watch them swim...sure would not like to get stung by one....
6:30 PM- I made supper on board, can you believe it! had Chicken Caesar Salad, fresh bread and wine....loved it....
Then after supper Ken and I sitting on the back of the boat finishing our drinks when a guy comes walking down the dock...and said...have you been here a while? we said yes, since yesterday....wow, he said....I always pay attention to new arrivals and I must have missed you...He is busy refurbishing his 55 ft.sailboat...bought in Puerto Rico (sp) sailed it to Ft. Lauderdale then up here where he has had it since Memorial weekend...he lives in Phoenix,Arizona and comes here on business couple times a month...he and his wife just spent 2 weeks on the boat working on it...I would love to see it...he goes back to Pittsburgh tomorrow on business, then home...then back...he plans on retiring and he and his wife will live aboard it for 5 to 10 years travelling around the world....he has more guts than I do...just look back at yesterday...how long do you think I would last in the big ole ocean on a nasty day...He has a great job...works for Westinghouse as a nuclear plant maintenance installation superviser...whoa baby! very nice fella...2 grown kids...paid his dues and is now ready to travel......
Getting late, so must wrap it up...tomorrow is another day.....Sail on!
